Why Did Jenna Ortega Almost Quit Acting? Before Jenna Ortega became a superstar in the show Wednesday, she was in the movie Iron Man 3, in the show Jane The Virgin, and even had her own show on Disney Channel. But after being casted in those projects, Ortega almost quit acting all together because after those roles ended she was rejected from every role she auditioned for. In order to be casted in Wednesday, Ortega had to work harder than everyone else that wanted the role. Ortega learned to not blink for over an hour, she learned how to speak fluent German, learned the cello in under two weeks, choreographed her own dance without being a dancer, and showed up in her audition covered in fake blood to get the role.

I’m half German and can speak it well enough to understand very basic sentences and greetings etc. and in clips I see, the dialogue doesn’t sound German and I can’t really understand it. I’m not denying she worked hard though

Jenna said that she had TOO MUCH tv roles and almost rejected the role.
The blink part is kind of true but it was more of an improv.
She wasn’t fluent in German and only had one week to learn.
She came to the audition in fake blood because she just finished a scene in “X”

not true, are we ignoring every single role she’s been in after stuck in the middle and before wednesday? you, the fallout, yes day, american carnage, x, the babysitter like hello??? she worked hard that’s for sure, but she was acting during that time. if anything she said it herself, the one thing that made her almost quit acting when she was younger was when she wanted to play football/soccer, nothing about being rejected. and just a friendly reminder that she was the one who almost rejected the role of wednesday, and it wasn’t her learning all these new skills that won the casting directors over (even though she is incredible for doing all that)
