Video Games Are Fun, Actually.

I like video games, hopefully you like video games, but if you don't, that's okay. You can watch a guy who likes video games talk about why he likes video games.

THIS IS SO TRUE!!!!
So many people lock themselves into playing one genre and think that any other game in any other genre is just automatically bad. I used to be like this too. I actively try to play games from genres I've never cared about just for the sake of trying it. Finding out about just one extra genre you like opens up an entire WORLD of games to play.

Branching out and trying something new is something I really ought to do more of - there's a lot of meaningful experiences to be had in the gaming world. It's what led me to Outer Wilds, one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've ever had.

Perhaps it's time I try something new again since I haven't felt drawn in by gaming as of late.

I was getting tired of games and all entertainment. Then I played Prey 2017 and I realized it wasn’t that the games were lacking, my diversity in games were lacking. So I completely agree with your opening statement.

i work 9 - 18, man i just cant wait to go back home and game sometimes
if you are bored of video games, get a job to remind you that they are still there.

My favorite thing to say is the reason you don’t see anyone talking about how much they enjoy games is because they are to busy playing them.

Im glad you made this video as I was starting to believe I was the only person who actually enjoys games anymore.

If you're a fan of city builders, you should absolutely give "Frostpunk" a go. The combination of intense survival with complex city building makes for a harrowing, on-your-seat experience. That's not even mentioning the incredible soundtrack and surprisingly intriguing story. It really is something unique.

i was burnt out playing boring games too, then i decided to pick up some games from my library i haven’t played in a while and starting playing cyberpunk. About 150 hours later and multiple playthroughs it is one of my favorite games of all time.

No idea how anyone can consider gaming to be "dead" when we have literally 1, 000 games coming out annually.
At this point if you want to play anything below a 7/10 you have to make the conscious decision to do that or do something like Day 1 Purchase.
And yes 7/10 is a good rating.

One thing to keep in mind is that a game with a big fanbase will often give a lot of bad buzz about said game. For example, if you're only exposure to Undertale is the fandom surrounding it, you're view is going to be severely distorted. But when you go to try the actual game itself... the game might turn out to be really good! The fandom really doesn't reflect the game itself, so always be sure to try the game for yourself, as you'll probably get a different experience than what the fandom might portray it is.

I've never thought you were negative. You call out the bad things because you love gaming and want it to be better. That's cool with me

i think being a game dev kind of helped me in not having to deal with ths issue of getting tired of video games, as ill often play different kinds of video games just for "research" purposes, often times ill find games i might not have played otherwise, and ill also have lots of fun picking up on a lot of different design aspects in a game while playing
playing the new zelda for example has had think a lot about all the neat solutions they came up with to problems that existed with breath of the wilds mechanics

I beat Silent Hill 2 today. I am left with a lot of emotions that I'm currrently processing. But most importantly, I was taken back to my childhood days when games made me feel something. Yes, games are still fun. Try different genres but try a lot of classic games too.

This was me at the beginning of this, I made it a goal to play genres that I was initially very apprehensive about and it’s honestly done wonders. I really only played FPS games up until this year and It is so refreshing to play games where the solution isn’t always shot it till it dies

Yeah, I mean...people just piss and moan about broken AAA titles all day and long running series that have "lost their soul" when there's a huge onslaught of indie games out there that are actually fun and to the point. And functional.

not many feelings better than trying out a game you didn’t expect to like at all and end up loving it or disliking a game at first then coming back to it and having a blast on it

It’s about finding what makes you happy - in my case that’s arcadey stuff, Japanese games, indies and Nintendo.

If all I played was competitive games, I’d hate gaming.

I think that there is a problem with people trying to like things that are popular. For example I don’t enjoy most Sony exclusives, and I’m sick of darker tones to everything so I play colourful games.
