Everyone is complaining about this chord in the comments (believe me I hate this chord) but one thing I find that works much easier is to put your fingers in the position of a g chord, but just all on the second fret. I found it works a lot easier than this!!!

I am a giant and broke all my fingers, my wrist, my arm and a window trying this. BUT! Barring the three strings worked like a charm. Good luck to all the fellow giants out there!

I've got the magic! Ability to make D chord depends on length difference between first and second finger. The smaller the difference the easier to make D chord!

mistakenely you say 3rd finger on 3rd thread of 2nd string.

I was taught to use my 1st finger to cover all 3 strings but the A string always gets muted and I dont have sausage fingers! I 👏just 👏cant 👏do it. 😫

You mean third finger on the second fret

This is not truly a D Major chord as the 1st and 4th string are the same notes (A). If in addition to fretting as above, you press behind the 5th fret of the 1st (A) string, you get the notes D Fsharp, A and D octave - the perfect major chord in D.

I think you said it wrong, third finger should be on the second fret.
