Last year I was learning German. And getting pretty good at it. Anyways, I got a dentist appointment to take my wisdom teeth out. When I came to after the procedure my drugged ass would only speak in German. To the shock and horror of the nurses. By some miracle one nurse also spoke a little. The friend who drove me watched a normal human walk in and picked up a German in a wheelchair bleeding out of his mouth XD

They just hit you upside the head until you speak your native language again.

As someone who is studying another language this is useful

> minor alteration
> learn EVERY language
> go to public place like grocery store
> pretend to slip / fall / feint
> swap language
> run into pole
> speak DIFFERENT language
> cycle continues until you run out of languages
> be taken in by scientists for psychological tests

Though I speak a few languages and this is public knowledge, I am studying a secret language without anyone knowing and I can't wait to pull that one out of nowhere someday and surprize people

This had a much more upbeat ending than I was expecting; I thought it would be something like “study, master the language, then go to that country and be unable to speak on even a kindergarten level because of anxiety” or something. That happened to my friends nephew, he studied AP Japanese at college, went to Japan, and then wasn’t able to figure out how to ask when the train left. His brain just turned off bc of the pressure.

So this is a much more positive experience even if you can never speak to your family and friends again

My cousin sent me this, I genuinely heard the story of my life again.

for bonus points, you can pretend you've been possessed or suddenly reincarnated like a shitty isekai anime. look very impressed and confused by cars. stare enraptured at packaged food. pretend to try and fail to summon a fireball or something and act heartbroken when you fail to do so.

then disappear for a whole day. take some random but mystical seeming objects with you, like a bunch of candles and a fur coat or something. then show up back home the next day totally normal and act like nothing ever happened. absolute mindfuck for everyone else involved

Learning a foreign language is like learning to play an instrument. It benefits your general cognitive ability

One of the funniest stories I have is from when my sister got her wisdom teeth taken out and spoke almost exclusively in Italian until the sedatives and numbing agents wore off. We were all surprised because, while we knew she'd been studying, we didn't know just how capable she was.

When my grandma had a stroke, it impacted her speech. She struggled to speak her native language, and would often start using German, which she knew as kid, but had forgotten

Bonus Points if it's not one of the 3 "Big" Asian Languages or Spanish, as to not be part of the Cliche and make yourself more believable.

This is pure cartoon villain logic and I love every second of it.

I know some Russian, but not nearly enough to hold a conversation. I like spooking everyone in the bus with my pretending to speak on phone in Russian, but only say a few words, as if I'm being given orders to do some crime or something.

The rised eyebrows tell me more than a thousand words and I love it.

I’m currently learning Arabic because I love oriental archeology. I look like a very occidental normie and I’m as white as it can get. Nothing particular about my appearance except I look younger.
One day I was at the bus stop and an old man from Maghreb asked other arabian-looking people when the bus comes. He also complained about the heat. I answered him. Everyone around me went bluescreen. Then he thanked me and was curious as of why I could speak Arabic. We talked a little.
I’ll never forget their braindead faces. It was hilarious

Quite an elaborate plan for a trolling to be done in a supermarket 🤔
