2 Hand Bowling Tips! 👌 #shorts

LETS SLOW THINGS DOWN A LITTLE.

There's a few key things we need to do to produce repeatable shots. Ya Boi has been grinding lately trying to find them. Let's talk about what I've been good at and what I need to work on.

First is footwork. When we don't have an arm wing to generate ball speed, we rely solely on our legs to get the ball moving. Most people I've seen lose a few MPH on thier ball speed when they start out 2 handed. I actually gained a few when I switched. This is because of the hop step. The motion I have found is much like pitching. We want to load up on that leg and push off hard into the slide.

Second is swing direction. This is something I have struggled with lately and was the main focus of this practice session. I've started emphasizing a push towards my left to get my arm more in line. I've struggled with my swing getting way too far in on the back swing, and trapping my body.

Finally is the point of the release. I've seen a lot of people get way too far on the side of the ball. We really want to be inside the ball and get more forward roll. This will help create control down lane and ball roll thats predictable.

We hope this helps and reach out if you ever have any questions!

Excellent - the step progression, the left hand not moving on the backswing, and release down around the ankle.

Get your hand behind and under the ball. Creating a higher tilt gets more revs but centering the ball gets you more power into the pocket. Two tips in one there 💪🏼

Appreciate this slow motion delivery ! I notice he does slide and then release the ball with great balance and control ( ala Belmo ). Others do a quick hop and plant ( without sliding ). Which is easier for beginners ?

The most important thing to avoid is the "windmill" where you try to keep your shoulders square. Bowling two handed you want a natural drop in your shoulder or else you risk back injuries

I throw two hand, just started a few months back. I never throw it across the lane, i aim for the second arrow (lefty) and it hooks in at the last second

Can you explain a little the hand release it looks like it’s diagonal ? Do you just push forward ? Or you just let it fall slide of your hand ?

Is there anything I can do to work on my form? It really needs refining. The basics are good but my backswing isn’t as high as it needs to be and I have a hard time getting low to release the ball by my ankle because I’m a bigger guy.

I was talking to one of the best young 2 hands bowlers in Canada and we both agree that 2 hands is basicaly 1 hand... The left arm is just supporting not adding any rev or speed.
