2024 Toyota Tacoma is All-New! Hands On With The TRD Pro, Trailhunter, TRD Sport and Limited

It’s been a very long time since Toyota has introduced an all-new Tacoma. At a special sneak preview on the big island of Hawaii, Toyota offered up a first look at the all-new (and it really is all-new) 2024 Tacoma. Here’s your first look at TRD Pro, Limited, TRD Sport and the new Trailhunter for those looking to overland. It will be available with two powertrains including the i-Force MAX hybrid. And Toyota has heard your requests for a better seating position. Sheldon Brown, the chief engineer offers up tons of information on what changes, and just as important, what doesn’t.

Not an engineer here, but I did hear the Toyota rep say the new truck will be a bit less that 18 feet. I do believe that measurement is bed-length dependent. My 2013 double-cab long-bed Tacoma is just a tad less than 18.5 feet. I feel that the ride of my non-TRD model is very comfortable. But like you Tom, my other ride is a Miata (that I bought 25 years ago) so driving my Tacoma right after driving the 1999 NB1 Miata makes the truck (and just about any other vehicle) feel like a limousine.

I actually like the new styling enough that I'd finally put a Toyota in my list of truck contenders. Toyotas last forever, but some of the models from the past decade hit the showroom floor looking 2 decades old inside. Props to them for making that TRD look rugged and cool on the inside!

Surprising how much better the front end is on this vs the tundra!! The interior also seems way more rugged vs the tundra which I love!

I miss my 2003 SR5 2.7L Tacoma. Basic small truck with manual everything. It fit in the garage.
