For a long term you can
1. Add a discoverable map(the paper expands and you don't know how big it gets)
2. Add cuztomizable characters
3. Make it so you don't NEED a devil fruit to be piwerful in the game
4. Make a story mode, multiplayer(co-op would be simple) and maybe a PVP (that'd be super complicated).
5.Add a feature where you can add people to your crew and have features with them like kick them off the crew (some might fight back), shun them from the crew, put them on missions, or maybe make crews of themselves that entirely work for you(like whitebeard)
6. You could also add a make rooms, customize the ship where you can decorate it with things like souvenirs eith certain islands, and when you get your ship you can choose what your jolly Roger is.
7. You could add marines to islands that could capture you or marines in the seas that hunt you down and some may have devil fruit powers
8. You could also add a day and night cycle and seasons to certain islands (climates for certain ones too)
9. If tou read all this thank you and if ANYONE replies i will add more to this list for anyone's benefit

You should add a bounty system (kind of like stars in gta) and the more bounty you have the more marines try to kill or capture you

Can you add a under water travel so us fish can get around without drowning it would be like you save up money then buy a coating then you go under water and you find new cool places or just move around this would be much faster then normal sailing but would mean you only have like 5-10 minutes with it or you run out of air
