How We Die: Death by Appointment (3/10)

­­Since 2016, Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) has become a legal end-of-life option in Canada for those suffering from an incurable and deteriorating illness, disease, or disability. Over 14,000 Canadians have chosen medically assisted death since then. Renowned physician Dr. Jay Keystone was one of them. His two sons, David and Kevin share the stories around that choice and the days before it, in what their father called a good death.

During filming, Kitab Productions implemented a COVID safety plan in accordance with Public Health Orders and advice alongside the COVID-19 Safety Guideline for the Film and Television Industry in Ontario. This included cast and crew COVID testing, physical distancing, sanitizing, masks, minimizing crew requirements, and adjusting locations.

A beautiful story. Thank you for sharing your Dad's death. You have given me hope for some happy times with my elderly Mom in the future.
I just moved into her sewing room this past week because she has fallen a few times. I'm not going to let her go into a nursing home. My Dad died last year in a home from Covid-19. We couldn't see him for the last two months he was alive. It was a horrible place to be: not enough nurses, not enough CNAs; the food sucked too. At least the Covid-19 didn't affect his breathing and he died in his sleep.
I'm looking forward to taking care of my Mom! I appreciate this YouTube channel.🙂
