Latin Alternative Music Conference, Part 1 | Nueva York

In this episode we interviewed some of the participating artists in the Latin Alternative Music Conference, LAMC for its acronym in English.
We start with Kinky the band from Monterrey, Mexico, will discuss with them their music, mixing genres like rock, samba, electro-funk and techno with Latin rhythms.
Then we will meet Vicentico, singer, songwriter and co-founder of the famous band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Argentina. Since 2002 it launches solo and this time he tells us about his sixth album, Último Acto.
Later we will see Toy Selectah, former member of the hip-hop band Control Machete and music producer of singers like Gustavo Cerati and Calle 13. Today he has his own record label Mexside in Mexico, which has become an important benchmark for rock music in Spanish today.
We conclude with Diamante Eléctrico, the group has become, in just three years, the benchmark for the independent scene, alternative in Colombia. His music mixes sounds of blues, with crude lyrics and suggestive images on large screens that earned them the Latin Grammy last November for his second production.

En este episodio entrevistaremos a algunos de los artistas participantes de la Conferencia de Música Latina Alternativa, LAMC por sus siglas en inglés.
Empezaremos con Kinky, la banda originaria de Monterrey, Mexico, con ellos hablaremos de su música, mezcla de géneros como el rock, samba, electro-funk and techno con ritmos latinos.
Luego nos encontraremos con Vicentico, cantante, compositor y co-fundador de la famosa banda argentina Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Desde el 2002 se lanza como solista y en esta ocasión nos comenta de su sexto álbum, Último Acto.
Más adelante veremos a Toy Selectah, el exmiembro de la banda de hip-hop Control Machete y productor musical de cantantes como Gustavo Cerati y Calle 13. En la actualidad tiene su propia propia casa disquera MexSide en México, la cual se ha convertido en un importante referente de la música rock en español de la actualidad.
Finalizamos con Diamante Eléctrico, el grupo que se ha convertido, en apenas tres años ,en referente de la escena independiente, alternativa en Colombia. Su propuesta que mezcla sonidos del blues, con letras crudas y sugerentes imágenes en grandes pantallas les mereció el Grammy Latino el pasado noviembre por su segunda producción.

Nueva York is an Emmy award winning series about Latino culture in New York. The 30-minute show explores the rich textures of Latino society in the city, focusing on politics, art, culture, and the traditions of Spanish-speaking populations across the metropolitan area. Each episode features prominent leaders from the tri-state area's cultural and public spheres sharing their thoughts and accomplishments with viewers. Interviews are hosted by Mexican novelist and critic Carmen Boullosa and Chilean journalist and writer Patricio Lerzundi. The general producer is Professor Jerry Carlson, specialist in Latin American cinema. They are all members of the academic staff at CUNY. The series is produced by bilingual professionals from Colombia, Guatemala, Massachusetts, Mexico, and Texas. In addition, the series offers documentary segments about events, exhibits, concerts, and institutions.
