I think the algorithm may have curved this video perhaps because of the word negrito or maybe because of the thumbnail. Either way I am happy with the video and leaving a like and comment would really help to boost the vid, thanks!!

In the early 1960s, my family lived at Clark Air Force Base in Luzon, Philippines. At that time the Air Force employed the local Negritos to provide perimeter security around the air base using mostly spears and bows and arrows. We visited their villages a number of times and bought many of their weapons which I still have. These stealthy and capable people were feared by the other Filipinos and were very effective at their job.

The genes that determine phenotype are just a very small fraction of a person's genome. So, while some of these Negrito people may look like indigenous Africans, especially the Andaman Islanders, they are genetically far closer to other descendants of the people who migrated out of Africa 50, 000 years ago than they are to indigenous Africans.

For example, according to Vahaduo's genetic calculator, the genetic distance between the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria and the Esan tribe of Nigeria is 0.009, which is to be expected because they are closely related tribes. Accordingly, the genetic distance between the Yoruba tribe of Nigeria and English people is 0.77, which is 85 times greater.

However, despite the Jarawa people of the Andaman Islands having the phenotype of certain indigenous Africans, the genetic distance between the Yoruba tribe and them is 0.71, which is nearly as great as the distance relative to English people.

This is such a fascinating topic and one that puts focus on the similarities of modern humans. I love that you convey a sense of admiration for these people. It’s the beautiful and mysterious story of US that captures our intrigue and imagination and I appreciate that someone like you is putting out content like this.

In Southeast Asia, many mystery facts are still being questioned, especially in Indonesia. I know that the Papua region is not an Austronesian territory, but the traces of civilization in these two regions, Austronesian and Melanesian, have something in common, namely the presence of ancient paintings that are tens of thousands of years old, one of which is on the island of Sulawesi there are the oldest ancient paintings in the world and the other is on the island of Papua and maybe there are traces of a common ancestor... on other islands like Java there are lots of ancient human fossils that are millions of years old and the oldest in the Southeast Asian region. and actually there are many more as the word Sundaland itself is taken from the name of the Sundanese tribe in Indonesia, where the land of Sunda holds many mysteries, as recently there are traces of the oldest pyramid in the world, namely Gunung Padang

My mother is a Khmer genocide survivor. When she was 9, she was separated from my grandma, ehile running from Khmer Rouge. She ended up deep in the jungle, and she states that she saw short, dark people, that directed her to no longer continue. I have not heard of such a thing from other survivors.

0:21: 🌍 Understanding the diversity of modern humans across the world is challenging due to intermixing of diverse populations and the social construction of racial classifications.
3:49: 🔍 The presence of Denisovan DNA in Southeast Asia suggests interbreeding with modern humans after the Wallace Line was crossed.
6:39: 🌍 The culture of negrito people in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, who were the first modern humans in the region, suggests a larger geographical range and affinities with australo-melanesian people.
10:08: 🌍 Negrito people in Southeast Asia are closely related to other East Asians, despite their physical differences, as their features have independently developed within Asia due to adaptation to similar environments.
13:23: 🌍 The video discusses various negrito groups in Southeast Asia and their traditional lifestyles.

Classifications based on surface-level phenotypes, even if they look like important phenotypes (to us) very often fail to account for the ancestry of the organisms. It happens very clearly with crabs and with trees.

Organisms that we call crabs don't go back to one single ancestor that looked like a crab, and trees very often evolve from grasses, so they don't share a single tree ancestor.
