Definitely some great analogies, and a great definition of how we react, schedules and repairs

I'm about to teach a class titled "How to extend the life of your car" and this is all great information to bring up the first class. Well done, thank you.

Hi !
I like your channel, it‘s just pure knowledge!
Concerning the Preventative maintenance I‘d suggest the example of using an internal engine cleaner additive every time you do a regular oil change. As this some of the containing light hydrocarbons reduce the viscosity, you ‚provoke‘ unnecessary wear, while your engine isn‘t dirty anway

Agreed, and use of analogies helps everyone understand and is characteristic of great teacher, great job
Now, having said that, I would love if you could tackle the issue of lubricant compatibility with plastic, silicone and rubber(yes, all the types of plastic, silicone and rubber, I guess silicone is a type of rubber)
I have been trying to learn what lubricants can damage what materials I just mentioned, and how can I know this before hand ?
Most lubricant products have MSDS(material safety data sheet) which 95% times contains the list of ingredients, how can I utilize this list to know if the lubricant product will damage my materials ?
There has to be some way to know this without going crazy
