I absolutely love how much pride the little girl has when Buddy gives her a gift, we used to be like that growing up in the 70s as kids we were always worried about what are friends thought or if we liked a boy it was a huge deal if we were misunderstood. Embarrassed about the smallest things.

This was actually Truman Capotes life. He loved his Aunt Sook. The neighbor was actually Nelle Harper Lee. When she wrote To Kill A Mockingbird, the little boy named Dill, was based on Truman Capote. The famed Robert Duvall played Boo Radley.
