Yakutsk to Novosibirsk (Traveling through Russia in Winter)

Показать описание
We are leaving Yakutsk, flying across Russia and traveling to the capital of Siberia, Novosibirsk. After the 4 hour flight, we are planning to travel on a 5 hour bus journey to Kemerovo. Simple right? Well, the only issue with that we are flying out of Yakutsk International Airport, one of the coldest & foggiest international airports in Russia and on Planet Earth. Yakutsk (YKS) is notorious for its fog that blankets the city throughout the winter months. This fog often completely grounds air traffic for days on end, leaving the city and its people stranded for sometimes up to a week at a time. We may have travelled across Russia to Yakutsk on a 5 day train, and it may have been difficult but this could well turn out to be one of our most difficult travel 'days' yet. But how bad can it really be? Lets find out, I guess 🥶

I love the videos when you pass through Novosib... I lived and studied there in 1993, not far from the glavni voksal! I hope to go back one day, Siberia holds a special place in my heart. Love watching your videos, they bring back a lot of amazing memories of my years in Russia and travelling throughout CIS in the 90's! I especially love Julia's gran, she is brilliant. Thanks for the great channel!!

Wow! Snow angel! That's what we used to do in Michigan but the snow pack was a bit thinner and we could lie on our backs and wave our arms and legs up and down and across to make it look like we were creating wings and an angel's gown as our silhouettes when we would get up out of the snowbank. Thank you for the wonderful memory!

I am a new subscriber (since yesterday) and have really enjoyed watching your adventures in Yakutia. I don’t know how YouTube suggested your channel to me, but I am glad that it did. When I next message my Russian friend in St Petersburg, I can’t wait to tell him about you both. One day I hope that I can meet up with him in person, because at the end of the day, we are all human and want to seek new experiences and friendships. Good luck to you both going forward, and best wishes from Leicester in the UK, where the temperature is currently 13C and sunny.

I live in a country with almost no public transport . I however, like public transport and it is wonderful that you were able to make such a journey using only public transport . You are also providing a window into life in Russia . It is very interesting . I am eagerly looking forward to your next adventure.

So Julia, at the beginning of this video I thought your face showed total exhaustion and I was worried but at the end, there you were with a fresh smiley face looking well rested. The ice and snowy world of Siberia looked spectacular from the plane. Thank you both for taking us to Yakutsk and back. Ross xx

It’s impressive someone from London can withstand Siberian temperatures, it looks brutally cold and unforgiving at -30 c, I’m sure Julia the expert was fine, interesting to learn about Siberia ✌️❤️🇬🇧
