I’ve had both before, but had a ball python first. They are super super chill and you can relax with them on the couch. Cornies will ZOOM everywhere, so you need to keep more of an eye on them noodle boyes

As a person with mental health conditions that cause anxiety and panic attacks, my ball python helps by redirecting attention and directing pressure because she is stronger than a corn snake. I’m not saying corn snakes are not a great pet. They are fantastic pets I’m just saying this is my reason for picking a ball python.

Ball Python, personally. Mine has his own personality and they can even be trained to only have a feeding response when you tap on the enclosure with the tongs. He transitioned from mice to rats effortlessly. I only had one instance where he went off food, but it was related to him developing minor scale rot and the stress of the treatment caused him to not care for eating. He went off food for 5 months till he completely healed, but didn't loose any weight in that time period. I've had him for three years and he's one of the best things that ever happened to me. Absolute goofball.

As much as I love ball pythons, my first snake was a corn snake. I love how simple and easy they are to take care of and how they stay a reasonable size, very cute and not bitey in my experience.

Whatever your looking for in a snakes personality is what matters. If you’re looking for a more entertaining and lively snake go for a corn snake but if you want a snake who will just chill with you then get a ball python.

I have a ball python, and the full year ive had her, shes never been off of food. Shes a great eater and helps me calm down when i handle her tbh

My mom had 6 corn snakes as a kid, and they were actually pretty friendly, I would definitely go for a corn snake 😊

I decided on both 😂 both are rescues and both are amazing. My corn snake is no contact after his abuse but his bioactive enclosure means he’s stimulated and happy without humans. My BP went off food and nearly starved, most because of improper housing. Once this was fixed when he came home he’s never stopped eating since.

I love my corn snake, Mambo. He is super friendly and curious about things. He just goes with the flow of things, and is a hearty eater with no feeding issues. He is a super easy keeper. My friends who have Balls are constantly saying they have feeding and other issues with their snakes. I'm glad I chose a corn snake.

If you want an active and fun snake you would want a corn snake like one that you can play with but ball pythons are super chill and are one of the most docile snakes you can have they never strike unless there hungry, there also really good for snakey cuddles, I know all of my ball pythons love to cuddle up with me in my blanket

Gosh the chillness is what I love about ball pythons. I've never owned any, but they've been among the only snakes I've ever handled and gosh pythons are so chill and calm and pleasant to hold.
