Hi Tonya. down at the foot there are 2 elastic straps under the pad. we cannot seem to figure out where they hook to hold the pad in place. there are holes that around that region but not seeing hooks.

Not gonna lie some of us had to rush to take all the covers off due to child being sick so being taught how to put this back together again would of been so helpful

I couldn't find any instructions in the box when I purchased this car seat for my baby and I thought to my self let me video tape 2 parts taking it off washing it and putting it back on because it could help someone .
