But one theory that many believe today is rooted in so much historical fact that it's worth diving into the historical record to find the truth. Did Kim Il Sung steal the identity of another man to get into power?

I think, as for the reasons why the South Korean far right and others like Professor Lee Myong Yung accept this theory could also be that to see their "national hero" (and his lineage) turn into this evil dictator was hard for them to accept and this theory acted as a sort of coping mechanism for them.
