yep, the USA version of this car has twin stromberg carbs which are strangulated by a carbon emission canister, no overdrive on the gearbox and a puny 105 horse power, I had a car just like that with those ugly over riders on the bumpers, I imported it into the UK from Florida in about 1990 and it was a cheap car to run around in here in the UK and I did a driving tour in France so the left hand drive was useful for that but it was a gas guzzler as it was without overdrive so it really screamed along at 70mph. After that car I acquired a UK spec RHD injection model with overdrive on the gearbox effectively giving it a fifth gear, being a 1971 model it had a whopping 150bhp served by a Lucas mechanical injection system. similar design to the injections system on early Corvettes. The difference in the two models of car was huge, a UK spec car with 150 bhp is a totally different machine to its carb USA counterpart. But then Triumph exported 80% of its production line to overseas, so there are plenty TR6s in the USA, I do see a culture of engine swapping on a TR6 in the USA, good idea in most cases.
