Which country does the most good for the world? | Simon Anholt

It's an unexpected side effect of globalization: problems that once would have stayed local—say, a bank lending out too much money—now have consequences worldwide. But still, countries operate independently, as if alone on the planet. Policy advisor Simon Anholt has dreamed up an unusual scale to get governments thinking outwardly: The Good Country Index. In a riveting and funny talk, he answers the question, "Which country does the most good?" The answer may surprise you (especially if you live in the US or China).

The microphone rubbing on his beard give this whole presentation the unique vinyl touch. Love it :D
As a German who has been many times to Ireland working and travelling, I can say: I love Ireland a lot! You deserve it!

Visiting Ireland in 2009 I looked around me and The thought that struck me was "This is the most civilized country in the world". Apparently I was right. 🍀 Love you back, Ireland

Not surprised that I haven't seen this man before, as he's obviously well-informed and must be stopped for being a good, intelligent person.

This title is so unfair. Simon's talk is just one of the most profound, brilliant, and intriguing talks I ever have seen not only on TED, not only on YouTube, mas in my life as a whole! Comments don't translate.

I am so happy to see my country *India* at 44 Rank.
We came at 44 from more than 120 rank, some years ago.
We are just 3 positions below the US.
I hope my country keeps improving and the rest of countries too.
Coz it's only meaningful when all countries improve.

Literally didn't want this talk to end, it's so refreshing to hear him speak, let alone hearing what he has to say about the whole thing.
