That episode was Super's biggest red flag. They never should have started Dragon Ball back up without proper time management. They may have learned their lesson now, but what were they actually thinking back then to let this happen?

Common thing in a lot of long-term shounens that get Blu-Ray releases afterwards. Fairy Tail is also a big "offender" of this phemomena, where we got slide shows for some episodes and properly redrawn scenes in the Blu-Ray and subsequent releases.

I’m in no way defending the stress and time constraints put on animators when making anime, but I thought it was not uncommon for anime to have a couple low quality broadcast versions and fixed home release versions. One of my favorite examples that we can still see is episode 61 of Hajime no Ippo. The production company sent the broadcast version to be dubbed so I think the bad version Is the most common to see.

Sure we always have to allow room for human error but that whole fight scene was animated badly, it shows that even professional animators make mistakes
