Lionel is honestly such and inspiration — he’s a big reason why I decided to get my life straight and I signed up for my first Ironman 70.3 this year. Whatever you’re going through find your purpose in life and never let it go 🙌🏼

I really hope Lionel wins Kona this year! Lionel Sanders is my hero. I got out of doing drugs through running and now I do triathlons and ultra marathons.

Through a combination of circumstances, I spent my 40s touring around Asia. Whatever I went through up to that point, it was worth it. You never know what is around the corner.
Today I ran in my first footrace since high school. 29 minutes in the 5k.

I've been sober nearly 12 years. Done more than my share of coke and ecstasy. And Jack Daniels.

Also a 4 time Ironman finisher.

There are many, many of us who have had substance use disorders and somehow ended up drawn to endurance sports and long course triathlon.

Lionel is far from the only one.

It has been the same for me, out the tunnel by my self, i took the power from my past, when I was 10 years old, a good child, a good person, and meeting my future wife it has push the change more fast... and the triathlon complete this change at the
