In this video I will show you have I use 3 plates to create 1 print using intaglio collagraph. I will also show you the creative process behind my abstract design.

Materials:
Intaglio Printmaker Inks: Sepia, Indian Yellow, Prussian Blue, Zinc White
Paper: Snowden 300g
Press: Polymetaal HS-35 Tabletop Etching Press
Acrylic Matt Media
Enviroboard x 3
Shellac: Jackson's Art

4:15 - Cutting into plate no 2
4:36 - Cutting into plate no 1
6:39 - Applying acrylic Matt medium to plate no 1
6:48 - Shellacing all 3 plates
7:24 - Introducing Inks
7:54 - Soaking the paper
8:01 - Explaining referencing
8:20 - Inking Up
8:46 - Putting all 3 plates through the press and the final reveal

Collagraphy is a really versatile printing process in which a textured plate is inked up and put through a press. Different textures hold varying amounts. of ink and print different tones. Anything with a low relief texture can be stuck down and used: wallpaper, leaves, fabrics, tapes and threads etc
