First responders reflect on deadly Wyoming I-80 tunnel crash

GREEN RIVER, Wyo. (KUTV) — As the investigation into a deadly Wyoming crash continues, first responders are reflecting on the devastating scene they encountered that day.

The crash in an I-80 tunnel on Friday has claimed the lives of three people and left dozens of others injured.

“This is the biggest one we’ve seen, that I’ve seen,” said acting chief Bill Robinson with the Green River Fire Department.

I imagine hearing people screaming for help and not being able to get to them is one of the hardest things to deal with specially after the fact

I would have ran into that tunnel to try and save those 3. The man screaming help, you can hear the screams of our pain, torture, and just pure fear. 😢

This is another reason training hours are important for firefighters both volunteer and professional. Nobody ever knows if they'll ever see "the big one" so it's best to be prepared
