2 factor authentication is often the very method scammers use to prey on the unwitting.

Session stealing can get around 2FA, but less common. 2FA is huge.

Also, set up a PIN with your mobile carrier to prevent SIM swapping; or use something other than text (authenticator app; digital key).

Also, I suggest disabling "view messages contents on lock screen, " that way a stolen phone must be unlocked for 2FA PINs to be read.

Cool you didn’t bring up Sim swapping
Great in depth reporting.👍

2FA text to a cell phone is NOT safe due to sim swapping
Use an app or token

Unless you get a sim swap attack and then it doesn't matter lol

Such a helpful and insightful video!
After watching it, everyone who wasn't using 2FA or didn't know how to use it will start using implementing it!

Get off the digital grid. Use carrier pigeons and smoke signals and you’ll be safe

So using another app for security. Anyone else see a problem with that? In the future we will read that they got hacked. Then they will send out the standard letter that they will pay for monitoring service for a year. Big deal.

2 factors authentication won’t make any difference if there is a data breach. A data breach accesses the database directly and bypasses your account authentication.

This is just how they will count people

I've heard of people doing that. And still getting hacked.

They know exactly who you are if you tell them all of your accounts

It would be helpful if none of these companies or accounts needed to know EVERY private detail about you. Why don't we try getting rid of that process? Hum? The only thing they don't ask was the last time I pooped in the morning.

2FA is so 15 years ago and bypassed by SIM swaps.

Cold storage for backups. Two factor authentication for all your accounts online if they have that option.

If you lose your second device like your phone you’re screwed. Now is almost impossible to log in. But these online apps like promising as long as they are also secure. I’m assuming they also require 2-factor authentication?

Here's a tip that would solve 90% of your security issues: STOP using your phones for everything!

There's absolutely NO reason your phone needs to have constant access to your email or bank accounts.

My husband was hacked his information was breached during the national public data breach and so we froze all his credit bureau accounts and then I went through his phone and I got rid of some apps a lot of apps because it's just dangerous they track you through apps so we got rid of his banking app his credit card app and then his paycheck app different things like that and then we write down our passwords and I always use difficult passwords and very long ones too and on some of the sites I do two authentication method.
