Brembo 'Xtra' Review - Alfa Romeo MiTo QV

In this video I got to compare my standard disk setup against these new perforated Brembo's, just to make sure they are worth the "Xtra" money you'll have to spend on those. Let me know if you as well have experience with this set of disks or wether you would recommend any other performance brakes. Cheers.

My first brake job was on my Alfa 156 SW - they told me then, not to do emergency braking for at least 500 Km - but to brake in the rotors and pads on a steep downhill road with multiple slow-downs. Rotors and pads were Ate, and they did do a good job after the "treatment"!

Reminds me the time I changed my pads...the pins holding the pads to the calipers were a royal pain in the butt to get out...so I cut them and got them replaced....changed the pads from Brembo(very dusty) to Ferodo.Nice content btw .

Did you bed them in according to instructions? Also when you removed the disc it looked wet on the hub, like oil or grease, perhaps a leaking or holed CV boot?

In each case you have pressed the brake pedal before reaching the cones?

I was looking at Brembo Xtra discs for my Audi S5, but comparing prices with other performance discs like EBC, MTEC, Kinetix etc, they are more expensive, and thought Brembo was a premium brand, so expected the prices, BUT looking at the discs in your video the cross drilling (perforations) haven't been done correctly and a lot of them are into the vanes/vents so a closed hole. When correctly drilled, they should be in between the vanes so the hole is open on the otherside! This has put me off these discs! I only wanted the holes for aesthetics/looks, but this looks more like a budget cross drilled disc and not correctly designed! Half of the holes are more like dimples like the EBC grooved and dimpled, not proper drilled discs in my opinion. I would save the extra money from the XTRA disc, get OE discs and put the saved money towards performance pads. There will be more benefit.

After all is it a noisy rotor? And what is the difference with P 23 139 pads?

Hello, i purchased a set of Brembo Xtra rotors for my giulietta and Brembo Xtra pads. What is the correct procedure of bedding them in?
Some say I should drive normal and use low-medium pressure to brakes for 200 miles, others say i need to do 10 progresive brakes from 60 to 10mph as soon as i installed them.
I don t know which one is the right way.
What do you recommend?
Thanks

Hi thanks for the video! I was wondering if the brembo xtra are road legal in Germany. I failed the TUV in my mini cooper S as I need to replace brake disk and pads. This will work fine right? thanks!

How much did you pay for set, discs and pads ? Will change my next month, will go with zimmermann discs and ate pads, found them on autodoc.de for good price.

Do you have any brake noise since you installed them? 😁
(Thinking of getting drilled 310mm fronts for my TT.)

Let me understand: you changed disk and tablet and didn't do the settlement before the strong frenagenas? Efficiency was not 100% as the discs and pads need to settle.

WARNING
I have Brembo XTRA discbrakes and pads on my Golf. The pads are 1mm too big and therefore they make a clonk sound when driving over bumps. Brembo have NO COSTUMER service. I like the pads, but I would not recomend to buy from this brand. Buy from TRV instead. They do no care about you
