My family dumpster dives. In the winter we go for meats that are thrown out and dairy products any thing really but the rest of the seasons we stick to box stuff and fruits and veggies. Unless my brothers see them just throw the cold stuff away we don't risk it. We also grow our own foods so you can imagine how cheap our grocery list is. Lol our favorite haul was once publix threw out HUNDREDS of dollars of cheeses!! All kinds of cheeses. And some artisan breads- we literally were in paradise. Hahahaha we all love cheese. Btw there are 9 of us kids and two parents. We also would dumpster dive at goodwill they would throw out some amazing stuff that we would either use or give to someone who needed it. Also my nieces loved getting the costumes and clothes from the dives! They said it was like Christmas year round! Fun stuff! Thanks for sharing with us 🤗

I don't see a problem as long as you check the web for recalls. Also check for a pesticide smell. Sometimes stores get infested with roaches, so taking the inner pkg out for inspection is a must. Look for weevils too. I purchased some barley off of eBay, and a few months later my house was full of weevils that hatched in the barley.
