Shift R the biggest gem in this video. I’ve been using blender for about 3 years and never seen anyone do that

To understand how linked duplicates work, It's important to learn the difference between objects and object data.

An object is like an empty box that can contain some object data.

The object controls things like position, scale, rotation, and modifiers, etc. while the object data controls the mesh, properties of a light, etc.

When you make a linked duplicate, the same object data is shared between multiple boxes. Changing the data in one box will change it in all the others, because it's the same data.

The boxes themselves can have different positions and rotations, but the stuff inside them is the same.

Bonus tip: In most places in blender, objects are labeled with orange icons, and object data are labeled with green ones.

The first actual useful yt short to exist

A useful thing to know is why they're linked. It's called multi-user data, and a tutorial explaining how to convert objects that exist into multi-user objects would be very nice

also - depending on the things selected, you can hold alt while pressing a button/sliding a value to have that respective value change on every selected object
for example you can change a bunch of math nodes to a different operation, or hide a specific modifier from every selected object

What if after editing them all at the same time you want to make a change to a single one?

You could also use the Array modifier and then separate by loose parts.

Or you could edit one and duplicate it afterwards. I understand it may be very useful for lightning or other stuff, im just being dumb i guess

Is it better to instance them instead? In rare case you need to say replace the drum with another model
