In this video you will learn how to solve word problems that involve one step equations.

Problem 1. A bag of premium dog food cost 12.85, and is one third the cost of power dog food. What is the cost of the original dog food.
Equation X ÷ 3 = 12.85
Solution 38.55
Problem 2 Cheyenne went for a walk. While walking $1.35 fell out of her pocket. When she returned home she only had 2.55 left. How much did she have when she started her walk.

Equation x-2.55 = 1.35
Solution $ 3.90

Word Problem 3 The perimeter of a triangle equals 52.3 cm. If the length of two sides is 36.87. What is the length of the third side?

Equation: x + 36.87 = 52.3
Solution = 15.43 cm

Thank you for making this video, but I am still really confused on last two examples. In question 3 why wouldn't you multiply the 36.87 by 2 and then subtract?

i know this was made in 2016 but you literally don't need to do anything but add and subtract- this is so extra you don't need to over complicate it ;-;
