Wild shit when the internet is where all the dangers come from and now you have to use it for "Security Reasons"

feature list: "we are streamlining and simplifying the unexpected restart screen"

Seriously, does Microsoft realise not every single computer in the world is connected to the internet? What are they thinking

Damn. Even macOS of all things allows you to have a local account. Also, I don't think they can ever get rid of local accounts, businesses still like and/or require on premise AD.

Windows is slowly turning into ChromeOS I guess(ChromeOS is Internet reliant)

Instead of using the command oobe\bypassnro, now we will use the command *_start ms-cxh:localonly_*, if we not want add the reg entry with the long *_reg add /v BypassNRO /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f_* command and restart with *_shutdown /r /t 0_* . :)

Advertisers are controlling the narrative. Microsoft is 100% in the market of data collection and selling it to the highest bidder, advertisers, governments, your employer, whoever is buying... well they're selling it.

Requiring a Microsoft Account, even for the Pro version which you still need to pay for, is shenanigans and should be illegal.

With Linux getting more and more user friendly; even for gamers - they're going to start losing customers. But, that won't matter because most people simply don't care and they know it.

When I saw copilot in the notepad application I nearly spit out my water. Thankfully, it can be disabled (or at least appear to be disabled) but make no mistake, Microsoft wants to install their little spy on every device and embed it within all of the apps that you use. And even take screenshots to upload to their unencrypted OneDrive servers where any employee with access to customer data can access your "private" information.

At least Apple let's you enable zero knowledge encryption and only you can access it. For now. The UK forced them to disable it there - I'm certain the US government will do the same eventually. Why do companies bend the knee? Money. That's simply it.

Just wait until Micro$oft removes the Shift+F10 shortcut to the CMD and the Ctrl+Shift+J (or whatever it was) shortcut to debug the OOBE…
[EDIT]: Oops, they already did the second one XD

What pisses me most about Windows 11's OOBE is exactly this. Connect to the internet. ...okay, are you gonna let me install the drivers to connect to the internet? Nope. Not even any GUI option to let the user install the drivers, you have to rely on the commandline to get anywhere in that Catch 22 situation. It was basically the same issue with Windows 11 RTM.

If this isn't a Microsoft's attempt to make everyone move to alternatives (linux, apple, etc.) then I don't know what this is supposed to be.

Even if you switch to Linux, I still hope you never truly abandon Windows. Your knowledge on the OS is astronomically higher than most.

The stuff microsoft has been doing is so bad i hope when they add the new bsod its gonna be possible to return the old one with a regedit key knowing microsoft they will recode the entire system to make only microsoft accounts work and remove net user and stuff

samolxdmi

getting rid of the qr code is silly. that is the most forward thinking way you can show an error message to a user.

Average non tech savy person would even mix up that bsod with the feature update screen, it'd be confusing lmao

the registry is so convoluted even microsoft cant remove a key from it fully. They should probably store settings in plaintext or json like linux.

Remember this is not in PC yet, so MS may see this or others that also report it. and then MS will streamline the OS again.

they streamlined the BSOD to fit the Windows 11 design language, by going from a solid-color background and some white text with information, to a solid-color background with differently positioned white text and less information
