This Trucking Game may not be a view from inside the cab, but it's the most realistic physics that a truck makes where you get to understand how to truck operates in reverse. American Truck Simulator (ATS)and European Trucking Simulator 2 (ETS2) are the best trucking games that you get, and I recommend that you play them, but my game is created for people to just get used to reversing a trailer.

I have heard from so many users that truck schools across the country use my game and use my videos to show their students how to back up.

a tandem axil trailer reacts different to a tri axil and every make of truck differs, 30 years of trucking and sometimes i still fook it up. so new drivers don't worry, , , if in doubt ask for help its no shame, 10 shunts are better than 1 bump

This video is great for clarifying how the steering wheel turns the truck, not the trailer. Thanks for showing this example. I've been in less severe versions of this too many times and never quite understood what was going on.

I’ve seen a guy dock at a 90 degree angle like you Demonstrated. Tight dock with hardly no space, I was really Impressed

I was expecting you to say to unhook and rehook with the truck straightened, but no, this works just as well and much less cranking

@MyTruckingSkills
Hi David,
I am ACTUALLY doing this now !!!! :) I decided to try this and. . . IT WORKED for me. I'm that guy from Ontario Canada that you helped with backing up. I was TERRIBLE at it. I'm better now but still have a long way to go.

The trucking company I work for delivers for a major grocery chain in my area. So two days a week I shunt trailers at the grocers warehouse. It's an old warehouse [probably about 70 years] when the company had all straight boxes and may some tractors with pup trailers. . . anyway, in one of their produce areas of this warehouse, they have 9 docks in an underground garage. And of course now there are no straight box trucks. It's now tractors and 53 foot trailers.
In this garage, there's enough room to back up into a spot with a shunt truck but it can be done. And if your jack-knife timing isn't just right, you end up with your tractor in a hard jack-knife. Not as bad as in your video but still at a considerable angle.

I just could not get that timing with regard to "when to jack-knife" and I was struggling. Until one day I sat there and thought about your idea and decided to try it. . . AND IT WORKED !!!!

Tell you what, I still have your email from when we communicated last year. So the next time I have to shunt there, I'll take pictures of it and send it to you. I have to say I'm pretty proud of my accomplishment, and I have you to thank for it. Thanks so much for that tip man, now I use it all the time. Talk soon,
Mike

Shimmy the trailer back and forth in small increments. Need to try that with the pups.

Second video of yours I have seen and both times you presented situations & solutions that I have been in/used, granted the rig I was driving for 8 years was a 1 ton truck and 16’ tri-axle cargo trailer and never had a problem in a yard/dock but out at some of the sites I had to deliver/service… example Power Substations built to fit as much equipment in as small an area as safely possible, sucked to service.

The best way imo was just pulling to the left as I said to begin with and just adjust backing. But I guess if you're newer this is better since you're basically in the hole

Son of a biscuit eater! I just had that issue at Walmart DC. I should have watched this as soon as you uploaded

2:52 from here you could also just drop the trailer and rehook it.

I think I saw this method in an Austin Powers movie!

This happens to me a lot I think why this happens is because I do not know when to chase I think I'm chasing later than I should is there any videos on chasing that would be great

The only problem I could imagine is that you can't see the far side of your trailer when you're in this situation. You may have to get out of lot or use a spotter to to the shimmy safely
