My theories for the snark:
1. Misidentified oarfish
2. New, undiscovered species of chimaera (a type of fish related to sharks and rays)

The elephant dung bat is honestly a category of believable enough cryptid I'd just go "Yeah probably" granted i do find nesting in Elephant dung a bit bad being a lot of animals would go for that.

This is really cool!

Also I wonder if the snark is actually a frilled shark

I was read this book about this civil engineer who traveled around the world build damns and such after world war two. It was about his travels and dealing with the locals. Nothing abnormal in the stories. He was in Columbia looking at site for something when he seen this big patch of white. He went to look at it, and looked like catipiller tents, but bigger and on the ground. He started to go up to it, when his guid held him back. The engineer didn't speak the guid's langage and guild spoke little english. The guid just held his sleeve and repeated a phrase. The engineer got a stick and went up to the white fluff. It was somekind of insect silk, and tried see inside with the stick. The fuff was tougher then he thought. He seen nothing. The guild yelled to him and pointed at the ground. The engineer pocked about near the ground with the stick and seen the out line of some animal. The guid ran up then and pointed down at the engineer's feet. Hair spiders had climbed onto his boots and he then notice a pickling under his pants. He wacked at his pants and the spider scampered away. He shook a few spiders out of the legs of his pants. He was swearing because his legs started to sting. The guid pulled him hard away, and within a few few his legs were rubbery. Walking became hard, and another person with the guid had stick and he started dragging it behind the engineer. There was this silky drag line attache to boots. He started walk away and started to get unsteady on his feet. His guid hept yanking him, and the other man was trying to disconnect the silk drag line. He tripped, and the two men took his arms and dragged him away. They got him back to the transport, and he feeling seriously not well. It was a couple hour trip, and the last thing the engineer remember was being in a room, and they were cutting his pants off. I think his legs were swelled. Much of story I don't remember. I read the book almost thirty years ago, and I was more interested in his affairs. He went into detaiils. Anywho, a few days later, he was thinking clearly, but the bites were open sores which took months to heal. He was in a wheel chair for while and he joked about woman liking lame men. I don't remember the title because the front cover was riped off.
