A WARNING TO US ALL TO BE AWARE OF **** CAR DRIVERS
So I was out shopping on route to Stroud Market to buy some cheese (well thats what people normally buy in Stroud 😳). I happened to be on the YB but choice of two wheels is irrelevant. So I encounter this a-hole coming straight out of a side turning, on the wrong side of the road. I had right of way and to him I was on a blind corner. Just what the f**k was he thinking of? AND he lives in the area. He should know better.

I'm glad you're safe Rob. Increasingly I find we have to ride defensively. I suppose the secret is to ride in that manner and try not to let it spoil our riding enjoyment.

It happens too often. Virtually the same thing happened to me last week but the car was coming out of a normal T-junction with unrestricted views and he also seemed to be on the wrong side. Stay safe, despite the antics of other road users on 4 wheels!

Originally I thought the scenario looked like a give way to the right, until you showed us the give way markings on the side road. Which were a joke. Great riding Rob and well handled. We all make mistakes on the road, but I'm not convinced his was that? 👍 Cheers

That was a close one, pleased you are alright, I have had similar twice this year, once on my bright yellow SV650 which is fairly visable and once on my supercharged XBR600 which you can hear a mile away, Its like we are invisable no matter what we do the only thing that helps is to be alert at all times and ride defensivley

He was on the wrong side of the road at the junction as well. Defo needs reporting. If a motorcyclist had been coming the other way to you they would have been mangled

Shocking business. A few weeks ago I was out at 5 am on a rural road. Steep uphill blind bend with a stone wall to my left. Out of nowhere comes a speeding hatchback from the opposite direction, with all four wheels on my side of the road. Nowhere to go and braced for impact when the driver looked up from his/her phone or whatever, and yanked the wheel over missing me by inches and almost losing control in the process. Probably takes the racing line every morning at that time, and shocked anyone else was on the road. In your case the driver would have had a head on collision with any vehicle wanting to turn left.

I think we have to be aware of this sort of car driving, the same old reason, 'I didn't see you ', excuse. I expect this when out on my bikes and usually I am not disappointed. 😊👍🏍NJ

As others have said, that definitely needs reporting. Shockingly dangerous. And it would make an interesting follow up video to show how the police respond. They're getting more used to video evidence from the public now (particularly with dangerous close passes of cyclists) so we might be pleasantly surprised (or not 😊). I'd be keen to hear how you get on anyway.

OP SMART is the police website for reporting it. I can confirm it works. A recent incident for me resulted in the 2 drivers getting a POSITIVE ACTION which means a driver awareness course, a fine and/or a court appearance.

The problem with people who are familiar with roads is that they take driving on them for granted. You should report them to the police, it is at least careless driving, the driver needs a fine and points to remind them of what they are doing and its implications.
