Arabic language is unbelievable. It took me 8 years to learn it. When it comes to praying, talking about emotion or deep things, I have to say it in Arabic, because there is no English equivalent. It moves you, shakes you. You read the Quran and it feels like it’s reading you..

I had the pleasure and blessing of learning Arabic over the last 30 years. As an American (Muslim Revert) I found it absolutely beautiful and fascinating. The capacity for self expression with accuracy and precision is profound. In such, the Quran is believed by Muslims to be a linguistic miracle, unreplicable and in a state of perfection.

I confess that when I read the title of this video, I thought it would be about Chinese -- which I have also studied, although briefly and long ago -- because of its intonations, which mean one set of phonemes can be pronounced in four or more different ways, and with separate meanings for each.

However, "the structural genius of the Arabic language" confers upon it an inner logic that makes an Arabic dictionary almost indistinguishable from a thesaurus because it's built on a triliteral (three-lettered) root system. And its aural appeal is unmatched, so that to hear recitation from the Qur'an, with its inimitable literary style, moves my soul and fills my eyes with tears.

All this has made Arabic my most loved language, and motivates me in the demanding -- for me, at least -- effort to learn it.

One way in which Arabic is particularly complex and nuanced is in its incredibly rich grammar. Case endings of words and verbs change according to the meaning carried by the word, and so remembering and correctly using these case endings during reading or speaking or writing is particularly challenging. The endings also offer a much more nuanced understanding.

I have tried speaking arabic however it has been hard for me to find a good teacher. I usually blame myself, not any of my Teachers online but this time, I started learning russian and arabic at the same time, I could fluently speak Russian in a month however arabic remains negligible. May allah bless you, If anyone knows any good teachers online, that could teach arabic, that could be even advanced to arabic poetry. Alla'huma barik.

I have had the pleasure and privilege of learning and teaching Arabic for the past 30 years. As an Indian Muslim, I have found the language to be incredibly rich and captivating. Mastering Arabic has not only deepened my appreciation for its beauty but has also opened doors to exceptional career opportunities in the GCC and fostered invaluable connections with native speakers. Above all, the most profound experience comes when the Quran’s linguistic miracle resonates in your heart—whether in Salah or in your daily life—revealing the deeper meaning of existence.

Not surprised. The Qur'an is in Arabic and is held as one of the finest pieces of literature by both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars.
