The most important member of that team you talked about is me. If I put too many carbs in my mouth, the meter will go up. If I am don't active physically then my body will tell me. If I think health is not that critical, then it is my mind that needs altering. I will check with doctors after all of those are complete.

22 months ago, my mother finally had a follow up appointment with her physician which was delayed for months because her doctor has been in charge of treating Covid patients in the hospital and in nursing homes and was not able to meet with her. She had a full blood panel taken for this visit and her doctor was astounded at the progress she had made during the prior year. She was no longer diabetic and she was instructed to stop taking insulin after she had been on it for twelve years. Her doctor also praised her kidney function which has never looked better. Also, she couldn't believe that her total cholesterol was only 139, with LDL of 67, HDL of 60, and triglycerides of 82 which is great. According to the Framingham Heart Study, these numbers mean that she is virtually "heart attack proof" as many plant based doctors have noted. Her physician mentioned that she is reconsidering the diet for her family based on this experience. She also asked my mom to share her experience with our community after the pandemic. All of these results are exactly what I had hoped would occur. Here is the menu that I had developed for her to try to mimic what she was used to eating -- just search for GSP mother's menu -- While this menu is not a pure whole foods plant based diet, it appears to be health promoting enough to work for her. More recently, she has begun to taper off the processed transition foods.

Information and education on type 1 diabetes would be awesome! We don't get the acknowledgement we should. Type 1 & type 2 are different diseases with different causes. Nobody seems to talk about type 1 however tho...all that's talked about is type 2. Both are/can be very serious and life threatening, however what people dont seem to know is that type 1 is technically a terminal illness. And those of us with type 1 CANNOT manage ours thru diet or exercise or lifestyle. Often times there's no rhyme or reason for why our sugar runs high or low (at least in my case being a brittle diabetic)

Most helpful thing I learned about my diabetes is not to listen to the doctors.. always wanted me to eat foods that run sugar way up but then take more drugs to get it down but the drugs always make you gain weight..

How disappointing. I visited the sight and it's just Dr. Phil cashing in by teaming up with drug co to sell their risky drug.

I wish that shows like this would specify type one or type two diabetes when talking about diabetes. This show definitely makes it clear that it talks about type two, but the general public is not very good at telling between them. It would be great to explain the difference or say that it isn't the same for both types, and it would be especially great if you mentioned "type 1" or "type 2" at the end of a video title so people are aware beforehand what they are hearing. I like that it's getting attention, I just wish we would stop generalizing type one and type two diabetes as just "diabetes", since there is a big difference between them, even if they have similar symptoms. I don't want to come off as hyper critical over something small, but I've seen the harm it can do to people's beliefs, as I'm a type one diabetic and get a lot of negative attention because of it.

Eat every 3 hours?? That's insane.. Especially for fat type 2s.. Which is most...
Eat twice a day.. And intermittent fast.. See if that works for you.. Then try something else when it stops working...

@04:15 eat every 3 hours to level out your blood sugar? All that is going to do is keep your insulin levels high which is the CAUSE of T2D. What does a pyschologist know about nutrion or health??? Insulin resistance can be reversed but it won't be by eating lots of carbs through out the day but by eating LESS. And obesity is not the cause either - rather it is the RESULT of this ridiculous advice.
