Saw that hour long draw match he had with Backlund in MSG when I was 8 in 1979. Still ranks of the greatest I've ever seen.

Thank you Greg valentine for sharing a story that I never knew about my great uncle Pedro morales. I would watch many wrestling matches with you and others whom he fought and nobody in my family would share stories about him except my dad. My family was very secretive of my bloodline which I never understood and To hear from others about him tells me how much of a person he was and a good wrestler. Again, thanks for this video.

Back when I watch wrestling in the 80s, Greg knew what he was doing in the ring. Now, listening to his shoot interviews all these years later, I have even more respect for him and his craft.

As a little kid I hated Greg the Hammer cause he did his job so well, but now as an old man Greg just seems so fair and gracious and cool. The more interviews and ild more matches I watch the more hes becoming my favorite wrestler. Hes remained an impressive person unlike so many of my heroes from the late 70s and early 80s.

Some people hardly talk about Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine. He was also a good wrestler in his days.

There should be more interviews about the Grand Wizard.

Valentines first MSG match was in April of 1975 vs El Olympico. He also wrestled the following month vs Victor Rivera. The match he's talking about vs Backlund was actually his third at the Garden. Feb 19, 1979 1 hour draw. One of my alltime favorites .

Man the Hammer was such a tough son of a gun. His match with Roddy Piper at Starcade was my favorite. They were so great.

This was 21 years ago. There is current interviews with Greg and he consistently says the same things. Never really criticizing anyone. Cool dude. He could probably still hammer someone.

I love how the Hammer has a photographic memory in all these interviews and there's no bitter B.S or made up crap

He takes all the responsibility for the matches he was in. He knew and accepted whatever his role was and what his contribution needed to be. What a pro.
