Keyboard Visualizer LED Strip with Arduino Microcontroller Tutorial

I made a video explaining everything you need to do to set up an LED strip with an Arduino in my Keyboard Visualizer program. I go through what to buy, how to load the software, how to connect the Arduino, and how to extend past 30 LEDs. I forgot to mention where to buy the little jumper wires I hooked everything up with so I put a link in the description. Of course, you can use whatever wiring method you want.

I will do another video on setting up the ESP8266 microcontroller if you would rather use WiFi than USB.

Ebay Links:

CH340G Windows 10 Driver should auto install from Windows Update.

ESP video is going to be delayed a bit. I ran into some issues while filming and then had to go fix my code, plus I had some stupidity with wiring (grabbed a boost converter rather than a buck converter, didn't connect it to anything but it set me back some time). I tested everything now and got it working so I need to re-film most of what I did.

Hey there Adam! I love what you're doing and very much thanks to you I now have a sick desk light setup! But I need your help, for the next revision of the code can you add a Single Color mode for the LED? So when the LED react to the bass it won't lit brighter only on the center again (because of the foreground mode). Also for the K-Visualizer can you add a togle for idle mode? So that the foreground won't capture any sound when gaming and watching non-music videos. Thank you, love you :D

@calcprogrammer1 soo bad i have seen that video so lately since i also wanted to jump into such an project. i also wanted to be a bit experimental with my WS2812B strip and tried to hook the power to an external power supply with the right specs and only took the data cable and plugged it into my aorus mainboard but it didnt got detected or it doesnt give any sign its getting recognized, i guess 3rd party strips doesnt matter which lenght wont get recognized on the mainboard itself so i also bought that arduino plus also an terminal adapter board which is included so i can take the loose wires and hook them up on the board then, the only thing is i would need the code or better the direct link to it for the arduino u are using at around 10:45 and the keyboard visualizer. it would be really great if you could provide it to me since i dont wanna have wasted that money :/

Hi, I'm thinking about making a lamp using these led strips, and I understand how to set up everything else, except I'm wondering if there is a way to make the led lights originate from the end of the strip instead of the middle. For example, instead of a red foreground color reacting to the beat originating from the middle and spreading out, it would start at one end. Thanks!

can you just connect 5v directly to the psu so it can be very long strips for table lighting?

Is it possible to connect multiple arduinos to keyboard visualizer? Also, is it possible to use it for only the leds and keep the keyboard and mouse control from razer synapse?

Is there a way to connect 600 leds? i want to light up my whole room, bed, couch, desk and sideboard, but i do not know if its even possible. that would be ~20m of led strips with 30 leds per meter.

Hey so when i don't have music playing, what happens to the strip?? DO I need to have keyboard visualizer on for this to work?
Also, I don't know how hard/easy this is but any way to sync the keyboard to the strip when non-keyboard visualiser?

Hello together,
I'm using the 3.06 Version and trying to get multiple arduinos working. When getting the settings up, only the first "ledstrip=COM3..." ist working. The other lines with the 2nd and 3rd arduino are being ignored. Can you help here?

If I have two arduino nano controlled led strips, can I make keyboard visualizer recognize both?
Is it as simple as adding the line "ledstrip=COM3, 115200, 30" a second time and just changing the com port?
