Why is context important in communication?

Misunderstandings can occur more than once in a single conversation. Simply because we often assume one thing has the same meaning for us and others, and that’s not remotely true.

Omitting information just based on assumptions is a common mistake and the main cause for fallout in teams. Everything we do happens in the context of communication.

When and how you communicate matters as much as what you communicate. If you are not aware of when you should initiate conversations, you are likely missing opportunities to improve relationships, increase engagement, and strengthen your bottom line.

Luckily, we can learn to develop an awareness of, and a commitment to, effective communication. Doing so can result in significantly better conversations and relationships.

Context is _absolutely_ important. Let me give you guys an example. What would you all think of a 26-year-old man who still lives (and has always lived) at home with his mom, and who had graduated high school at age 20? You don't have context or a backstory.
