Alcohol (and tobacco) should really be banned. I stopped drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes nearly seven years ago, and really....every morning I thank God for healing me and for returning to a normal life with no addictions. Alcohol and tobacco should be banned!!

After 2 weeks, the physical cravings passed for me. From them on it's just thoughts. Thoughts are fleeting. Why torture your body for a thought that is usually gone in 20 minutes.

Thank you Terry for NOT preaching the AA narrative that AA is the only way to get/ stay sober. I am on day 6 and I went to one meeting, I attended thousands of them in the past without getting any real help from them. I recently attended one and felt like I was going backwards. I am overly busy lately and my job is very hard physically. I decided I dont have time to sit and listen to the SAME things OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. I needed someone to talk to and this woman gave me her phone number. She did not have time to talk but only wanted me to text her at night that I was sober. She told me to pray morning/ night. I do that anyway so that is nothing new. I know that ( from experience, after thousands of meetings in the past) it was only a matter of time until people in AA give me grief because I am too busy( my business is cleaning, plus 3 dogs, 2 horses, a garden, property to maintain) to attend many meetings. So I basically did what was best for me. If I let my responsibilities go to attend meetings, I will only get MORE overwhelmed. Again thanks for not pushing AA as if is THE ONLY WAY to sobriety.
