Instruction manual oversight . I got the Uni-Troll ST 5. #1) When installing the boom, there is no mention of whether to align the boom with the outboard screw hole up or down. I chose up because I want to see the screw top to tell if it is working out. #2) The screw to hold the boom has a slightly smaller head than the other 2" SS screws. Might mention this. I thought I had insufficient connectors for ny-lock. #3) When getting ready to connect the wire to the terminus, instructions neglect to simply say to thread the wire through the sheave at the end of the boom before you assemble the terminus. Small things, but show lack of attention to detail which makes life better. I have high hopes for this unit.

*We tried this out finally yesterday and it worked awesome! **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s we put it on our 16 foot aluminum boat and trolled with it. We didn’t catch anything but it was still fun and worked awesome! Can’t wait to use this baby again and hopefully reel in a big ole fish! Very easy to install and set up.*

This video is slightly misleading. It doesn’t come with the swivel base. Here in Alaska it was $300 for the Downrigger model 5 ST and the swivel base sold separately for $130. It does come with that fixed mount that sits on top of the swivel base.

Once I removed the rubber band from the cable on the spool, it went all over and It’s a complete mess. How do you remove the spool so I can rewind the line onto the spool? I’m very frustrated considering it’s brand new out of the box. This is a unitrol 10 stx manual cannon downrigger.

I've got the lake troll model with the fixed base plate. I'm looking to see if you sell rod holders that fit the base plate when down riggers are not in use.

My Cannon Downrigger clutch pad is broken and need for replacement. Does anyone know where I could buy/order the clutch pad? My location is Brunei.

It is a great manual downrigger for smaller boat. He is wrong about getting the downrigger cable out of the water before retrieving a fish... NOT true... you can leave it in the water and as long as you play the fish above the cannon ball... its never a problem.
