LG C4 vs Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED TV in HDR

Some 4K HDR footage of a 65-inch LG C4 vs a 55-inch Sony BRAVIA 8 (XR80) OLED TV, filmed using a Sony A7S3 + Sony FE 24mm f1.4 G-Master lens.

A Sony BVM-HX310 mastering monitor capable of 1000 nits full-screen brightness was used as reference.

Whatever one buys !!!, once it is in the house, without comparing it to others, I think that person will love it !!!, that’s what a salesman told me when I was trying to decide between a plasma, and an led !!! That was 12 yrs ago, and I still think my Panasonic Plasma is the best TV, I have ever owned !!!

It’s best to watch these comparisons on an OLED screen. Watching on my MBA I thought the SONY looked better, but after watching on my iPad Pro OLED the LG looked much better and very close to the reference monitor compared to the Sony.

Pleeeease make a quick update video on iPhone and iPad Pro settings for best HDR. I have the M4 ipad pro and am confused when Apple says that manual brightness limits the peak brightness. Does that mean that Dolby Vision cant hit 1600 peak in HDR with autobrightness turned off? Just a quick video from a real calibrator would be nice because the "Internet" isnt any helpful at the time of writing

I think personally I'm going with the C4 as low input lag and oled benefits outweigh the sony. But my god the motion on the sony looks amazing in comparison.

Thanks for the comparison. I'm considering both the C4 and the B8. I'm leaning towards the C4 but I'm concerned that some reviewers say the TV has a green tint when viewed form an angle. Did you notice this on your test unit?

The LG is brighter but the Sony has more depth and the motion clarity is miles better

Sony remained, remains, and will remain the best TV, and as for this video, and the LG C4, you can see some greenness on it, is this the level of the TV.

Why do LG OLEDs always have green tint even after calibrating to D65? It’s visible in this video as well.

I own both TVs if you’re really pressed on which one is better and you can only get one it’s the Bravia 8 you’ll want. I would only say LG if you plan to PC game with it otherwise Bravia 8 is the only real answer here.

Why does the Bravia 8 looks much worse compared to the C4 in your other C4 review video posted today than in this video? For example from 2:54 till 3:09.
