Life in a small town in the North of Canada is amazing in so many ways. The nature is unparalleled. My home where I have lived my whole life is in Northwest Territories in a little town called Hay River. It is a special place, and this video will give you a taste of the town, surrounding area and all it has to offer.

Hay River's been through so much the last few years. Fort Smith is my hometown and we came over to the Track and Field meet every year for 15 years. Have so much affection for the town and its people

Oooh am so happy to find this video! Lived in Hay River in the early to mid 90's, a lot has changed but some not, like the purple high school. My husband proposed to me at Alexandra Falls in the dead of winter on that lookout, with the partially frozen falls running. Thanks for the memories!

Thank you so much for such an enthusiastic introduction to your town! I've been really missing Canada lately, and found your video as I was surfing YouTube for Canadian places, and I'm so glad I did!

You know, it's fine. Many smaller countries and more rural communities make due with the resources that nature provides. In Eastern Europe, many people still have family (mostly pensioners) that have a small villa with a plot of land that they cultivate every year for potatoes, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes and beans. It's a must, but the soil there is pretty rich. Just the rain is getting more seasonal, still stronger in the Fall/Winter, but pretty dry in mid to late Summer.

Nothing wrong with having an agricultural way of life at all. Many people are wanting that but can't afford the land.

It was a very interesting introduction to this small town. It is worth a few days to explore the waterfalls and surroundings, including the three cute dogs. Great video too!

I love everything about the North...except for the bugs! They have always been a deal breaker for me. Too bad. I think I would have loved to live in those latitudes!

OMG! I'm so glad I found you on youtube. Your presentation of the videos makes me feel like I'm there with you. I've always been interested in visiting the Yukon and Northwest territories for the mountains and majesty. A few weeks ago I started surfing for videos on youtube of the area and finally decided to check out your videos yesterday. I'm glad I did. You're motivating me to save up and go out there for a trip. I'm 55 and this is a trip I need. I love my country and I want to see more of her! Thank you for putting out these videos! Keep posting! ❤️

I used to stop off in Hay River a lot in the 90s and 20s heading from Edmonton to Fort Simpson. A good stop off point. Nice community, and I miss the North! There used to be a great restaurant on the main street run by a Chinese family. Not sure what it was called but it was great.

Thank you Petrena. Your videos are beautiful ❤❤❤ I have been thinking about moving out of Ontario but you said that up north it's very difficult to find a place to live and life is very expensive

Beautiful, I believe I've only seen Pisew Falls in Manitoba by Wobaden. They are quite nice and lead in to a second set of falls as well. I noticed your other video says the city buit on rocks, the what Flin Flon where I'm from coined it it's term from because of it's geography. The City Built on Rocks named after a fictional story book character.
