Skip Carey, Ernie Johnson, and Pete Van Weran. Miss those guys.

My dad was at this game and the 2nd game of the double header. Caught two foul balls, one in first game, one in 2nd. I still have them both. 😊

John Sterling mentions the Bill Buckner rumored trade to the Red Sox. The trade happened the very next day.

Loved those Jo-Dee Chants at Wrigley; Great to See Jody Davis Homer & the Crowd Chant while he rounded the bases

Incredibly I can see a baseball game, no endless graphics, launch angle, stock reports ect

A rare Chuck Rainey sighting in 1984 with the Cubs. He was traded several weeks later.

Braves are America's team? Not in 1984 they weren't.

It's not real baseball unless the road team is wearing powder blue jerseys.

Wearing powder blue at home on Retro Night *does not count*

who would have thought back then the cubs would lose the pennant that year because of a Gatorade soaked Mit and involve Duram and Buckner

In lived in New Orleans in 1984 and had a choice between watching Braves games on TBS or watching Cubs games on WGN. I found the Braves announcers so boring and dull and Harry Caray so boisterous and funny that I became a Cubs fan for years. This video reminded me of that contrast. So much dead air, so many pitches not called or commented on, so many tedious observations.

No stupid pitch clock, no bases the size of pizza boxes, no stupid "ghost runner".

Uniforms were so much better then. Now every team just wears boring gray and white with blue or red trim.
