Children's electric car - 50% more SPEED in 5 minutes

12volts seems to be a pretty common setup for little electric kids cars, comprising in this case, of 2 x 6v batteries.
In a DC electric motor, the speed is directly linked to the volts, so a third battery in series gives us 18v, and a theoretical 50% increase in motor speed.

I added this 3rd battery for a bit of speed boost with minimal effort (truly minimal as you'll see in the video.)

I haven't gotten the motor out to look at it's actual capacity, but it hasn't blown up yet.
If you blow yours up doing this. It's not my fault.

We have one and the batteries failed. So I put in some lithium, lot less weight. Just got to remove to charge though.

Have you tried running it on 18v when using the remote control? Mine seems to power the rear wheels ok at 18v on remote but steering wont work

What speed did the car have before and after? Speed by the manual not by aproximation

I have a 12v battery car. It runs for 10 seconds and there is a power cut, after 20 secs it starts on its own. It's a new car. Please help. (My son who is riding is just 10kg)
