Transformation Part 3: Here we continue in our yard transformation series. We added this stepping stone walkway from scratch. Moving that much dirt was an absolute pain in the ass but I made it work!

1. Clear land
2. Layout design
3. Dig out 2-4 inches depending on grade
4. Lay base aggregate
5. Lay weed barrier
6. Lay leveling sand
7. Add landscape border
8. Paint stones
9. Level and lay stones
10. Add marble chips!

Nice. Weed barrier is critical but overtime seems to get broken through by the weeds.

Of course this won’t last. I built the same or similar for my parents. I’m just going to lay concrete on the walkway. Stones tend to eventually move and weeds grow

Do the slabs not need to be bedded down with sand and cement?

What is black paint you did on stones?

The sand will go first then the barrier that way when. the rainy day comes the stones will not bury under the sand.

Question: I have laid my pavers. the stones are covered in excessive amounts of dust. should i shake this off or wash the stones before putting them down?

Now the trend is to spray those rocks with some type of glue to the point that they don't move .
