First things first, I want to thank everyone who has submitted their mutant designs to be used in this video. While I could not include all of the characters you sent, I really appreciated every submission! This whole experience was tons of fun, and I definitely want to do something like that again. So yeah, huge thanks to all participants!

Secondly, hey! It’s been a while.

This hiatus was by no means planned, and was caused by some less than pleasant IRL circumstances. I’m very sorry if I made anyone worried. And sorry that the first thing I post after a year of radio silence is headache-inducing music lol

The working title for the song was MIGRAINE. Probably reflected its essence better than the current one, but you know, puns. I tried a bunch of new stuff here - predictably, not all of it worked out. But! It was still super interesting to work on, and I hope that you will find it at least somewhat interesting to watch.

Finally, I’m very grateful for your continuous support and patience. I wouldn’t be able to come back as fast as I did if it weren’t for your kind messages. Even if this video didn’t live up to your expectations, I hope that you’ll find my future projects more enjoyable. I don’t know if I emphasise this enough, but your support really means a lot. Thank you!

This changes how Dimitri’s story goes entirely, instead of someone who was forced to experiment on his fellow mutants to preserve himself but cracked when he saw how sad KT was, he is someone who willingly experimented on his fellow mutants and only stopped when he learned he was soon to be replaced.

So Our Boy Dima used to be complicit in the experiments and went apeshit when they were gonna replace him for no reason other than convenience, that was his ‘Breaking Point’ and KT was only the last straw that broke the camel’s back.

I just realised that at 3:00 when Dima breaks out he also "breaks" the black bars that have been on the screen for the entire song.
It's a small detail, but I love it!

What I like the most about the way Ferry does their storyline is the small twists and reveals that we find out after seeing a different persective/ a new song. For example, in PAFL the truth about KT being a mutant is revealed by the end when the house gets raided, but in KT's official guide to happiness we find out that Yura already had his suspicions confirmed when they were in the club. Then, in KT's official guide to happiness, it seems as if whatever is being done to KT in the facility became DT's breaking point to break out of the facility with her, then we find out here that she was just affected because she was the last on the list before DT gets terminated, and that DT has to some extent devised this escape rather than it being an impulsive on-the-spot spur of heroic action. It's the absolute best and I can't wait to see more

Yura's "I'm not one to see people as means to meet an end" and The Doctor's "Oh it's noble to serve as means to meet an end" are setting up some parallels I am NOT happy with but I am definately looking forward to!!

I absolutely adore the word choice in this song especially "an important asset for our experiment" instead of "an important part of our experiment" and "you're too precious to waste" instead of "you're too precious to lose"

I just realized that Dima saves Anya because he though she was Katya, and that last scene it's him just before delivering the punch and meeting her!

i think that metallic sound at the climax of the song and when Dima reads the letter are his headaches, thats why they sound when he breaks out, he is using to much power so the backslash its huge.

Okay another thing I noticed that I absolutely love is that throughout the beginning of the song the lyrics of Dima's thoughts are frequently broken up by interjections by Temnova. Like he has not time to think for himself and every thought he has is coached and reinforced or replaced by what the doctor wants him to think. Just a really well done aspect!

the gesture Temnova makes at 1:46 feels so deliberate, as if she just takes another file form the cabinet, and not picking an actual living breathing person

This is just three minutes and a half of Dima having a mental breakdown, and IT'S AMAZING! Even ignoring the incredible animation, I mean, just Dima's character is so good - the carefully constructed superiority complex, the ultra utilitary view, the sheer wrongness in turning a victim against his peers for their personal gain, it's no wonder that when Dima breaks, he breaks so hard, he was set up to fail from the start and he just hates everyone for it. KT starting as collateral damage and becoming someone Dima wants to actually save because of his growing empathy (and also to alliviate his own guilt over his mistakes, like Yura) is just *chef's kiss*. I also love how it was hinted in KT's song that she knows exactly what his role is - "being used is really uncool", I think it was something like that, and because KT is such a sweet bean (and tends to make light of what happened in that hellhole of a facility for her own sanity) she doesn't spend time resenting Dima for it, at least until she's captured. Also Yura's plan being set up to be a complete disaster just from the parellels with scientist lady is KILLING ME. Can these kids have a break one day?? Ferry you evil genius.
