I've received some questions about sprue Goo, so I thought I'd put up a short video about it.
Remember, I'm not an expert and everything I say isn't necessarily correct, but it gets me by..

Good stuff, Nigel! Sprue-Goo is a great tool to be sure. Adding plastic to plastic makes for much more consistent sanding, scribing, etc.
Great video!

Nice. I remember seeing people asking what they can do with sprues and never considered sprue goo can help you make an actual fix to scribing mistakes

I prefer using Hasegawa or Dragon sprue when I make mine - it seems for me at least when using new white plastic it takes longer to dry also I have made it with Testors Liquid Cement and it worked just fine * Clear sprue can also be used to create things like landing lights, small windows etc it works much better when doing round shapes as opposed to right angles.

Thanks for the sprue glue instructions.

I never used this but I have used Tamiya Extra Thin Cement to melt small pieces of styrene so I can see how this will work well. I'll make some soon.

Neat. I'm gonna try this with GW sprues.

Thank you for the informative video. I wasn't happy with applying it with a brush, so I tried using a dental tool that is shaped like a paint pallet knife. it's about 2mm wide by 10mm long with around tip. It worked out really good for me, and it is far easier to clean up. I was wondering if you ever tried anything like that?

Doesn’t the goo melt the plastic brush? An old, used brush with real hair bristles works better too brusk & spread goo onto & around. Brush cleans up nicely as well

I used lacquer thinner. It also worked fine.

Will this work with any modeling cement, or specifically the extra thin?

Is it common that it dries in long thin strings? like a hotglue guns glue.

This was fine years, many years ago, when we had nothing else. Now there are putties available in an infinite number of formats, some do not even need to be sanded. Today this solution seems archaic to me. With all due respect.
