Calamity Mod Melee Class Setups - Calamity Class Loadouts

This video goes over the best Melee class setups for every boss in the Calamity mod, including vanilla bosses. This should give you guys a great deal of help if you are confused on what melee class setups to use if you are struggling with a certain boss, or just want to make sure you are using the best melee weapons, gear, and armor for any given boss.

The melee class has the highest defense of any class within vanilla and the calamity mod, but early game has some pretty low range as a trade off, late game though, you can really start to shine with the melee weapons that fire projectiles!

This list is based upon some of my preferences but as well as feedback from others within the community, overall I tried to make sure that everything in the melee class setups that I recommended for each boss was accurate, but with how many weapons are in the mod, there is bound to be disagreement or other opinions.

"What is the skull icon by some of the weapons?"

The weapons with skull symbol is one of the following:
A: Does really good DPS compared to other weapons in it's tier, allowing you to down the boss as quick as possible
B: Is very straightforward which will allow you to focus more on dodging rather than aiming
C: In some cases can require lots of grinding in order to obtain
D: All the above

Note: Some of the items, . such as the obsidian swordfish and biome blade, require breaking the progression flow by using creative ways in order to be obtained. (Reaver Shark, lava fishing from slurper pole)

Hey guys I’ve been playing melee for a long time, like 2 years, i will say this class poses a challenge but a good one. It also takes a lot of preparation and thats all i would really recommend it if your looking for a challenge. Also here are some tips:

1) use every buff available especially on hardcore. This tip is pretty self explanatory but its the difference between a won battle or another lost attempt.

2) yo-yos are AMAZING! If your doing a melee playthrough you have to have a yo-yo in your arsenal at all times. They have great dps and range also they are children’s toys that shred an extraterrestrial creature, i mean, what’s not to like! (The Amazon yo-yo early on can make a huge difference)

3) armor penetration is everything. Due to your tanky-ness you have to have as much armor pen as possible, trust me it helps.

You can't get silva armor pre-phase 2 of yharon, you can get the god slayer armor for phase 1.
