people who speak english creole languages never send wikitongues a video of them actually speaking creole, this was just english with a guyanese accent. Most of them see their creole languages as "broken english".... or some type of divergent dialect. On the contrary french creole speakers would never behave like this... some might mix their creole with standard french words and expressions but we would never send wikitongues a video of us speaking french (with our native accent) and call it creole.

Hi Wikitongues. I'm a Guyanese native and I am also very interested in saving languages all across the world. This was not really Guyanese Creole. Guyanese Creole is not recognizable to most other English speakers. I would be more than willing to do one for you in real Guyanese Creole. Most Guyanese living in the USA have lost their creole in adapting to American culture. I have been able to learn 4 other languages (not including English) and still maintain my speech in Guyanese Creole. I am, along with a few of my friends, embarking on a project to have a standardized written form of Guyanese Creole.

'Abi' and 'we' are sometimes used interchangeably and sometimes nouns are not pluralized. It also varies a lot depending on which part of the country you are from.

There are many Guyanese Indians and blacks living in Browrd county in Florida ;also many living in Orlando, many live in New Orleans in Louisiana ;New York, Texas and California .

Her Guyanese is very acrolectal, had to replay it a couple of times to hear when its English and when its Guyanese Creole.

Guyanese are also not 'poor people' as most of the diaspora portrays us to be. Especially in the last decade, my generation has worked a lot on improving our quality of life. While the nation in itself may be poor the people are not necessarily so. Many of us live quite comfortably and so we don't fight to go abroad. There are still poor people here, as there are in every country, but the general population is doing well. Our Governing system however leaves a lot to be desired and many feel oppressed by it.

my momma was born and raised in Guyana but moved to Canada when she was older and lost her creole accent so now i only hear my grandma and grandpa speak it but I’m gonna show my momma this video and hopefully she gets it back!

She’s just speaking English with a Guyanese accent. That’s not Guyanese creole. I suspect she’s lost the ability to naturally speak Guyanese creole due to how long she’s lived in the States.

I'm American African Haitian Cuban Guyanese Indian whiteI had every accent but my Haitian accent only comes out when I speak it but I have a Spanish accent and the Indian accent and a Guyanese accent I don't know what's going on because I have mixture of different accents my Guyanese accent tend to be mixed up with the other accents so I'm trying to fix up my Guyanese accent and my words so I can speak it properly
