Common misconception here; Gaelic and Welsh are both Celtic languages, but Welsh is not gaelic, and Gaelic is not Irish, and scots is not gaelic, kind of like how a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square. Celtic split into two groups, Britonnic (obviously those related to the isle of Great Britain) and Goidelic, which stayed on the islands on the fringes. Britonnic languages include Welsh Cornish and Breton, whereas Goidelic include Scottish Gaelic, Irish Gaelic, and Manx. Now SCOTS, is completely different. That is a Germanic language very close to english and frisian. The more you know.

It annoys me loads and I cant imagine how Welsh people feel when people say "Welsh is a very nice Gaelic language " like seriously ye can't be that tic thinking Welsh is Gaelic then not believing us when we correct yeas

Sounds very nice though I don't understand a bit :) It is very similar to Sindarin, a fictional Elvish language from Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings", "Hobbit" and "Silmarillion". And yes I know Tolkien based Sindarin on Welsh.

Very beautiful language. I once went to the Porthmadog area, Welsh was predominant. Fascinating and different. On TV at least one Welsh-speaking channel. Ambiwlans and heddlu were the local emergency services.

That sounds like Breton (in intonation/rhythm) even though I know Brezhoneg but do not understand what she says.
