I just hope the head and block will be ok. When I took my D4 apart I pushed the sleeves out with the pistons and rods stuck in them. I pulled the pan and made a fixture in place of the oil pan. I pulled the rod cap. I made a fixture to fit up along side the rod to fit against the sleeve and it took a 20 ton jack and some jarring with a hammer to push the sleeves out. It had so much tension on it when I was underneath it working on it I wore my full coverage motorcycle helmet for protection in case something let go.

Adding ATF to the internal compartments and machine parts, won't that help loosen these up and prevent additional rust?
