How would you cope with the trials and tribulations of parenting while still a child yourself? Super nanny Susie Whytock transforms some of Britain’s youngest mums into better parents and happier teenagers. Susie mentors each parent as they tackle everything from tantrum-throwing toddlers to the loss of a maternal bond. Parents include 15-year-old Zoe, who gives her baby biscuits for breakfast, and 17-year-old Ashley, who’s already pregnant with her second child.

Real Families brings you stories of modern day family life from around the world through the eyes of children, parents, and parenting experts.

I feel so sorry for these innocent children

When Zoe says "I always do well" and Susie laughs and leans in like she wants to choke her out LOL I hope Zoe has grown up some in the last 10 years or whatever it was that this was filmed.

I am concerned that the staff are not really recognizing Zoey’s level of functionality. Aspergers isn’t really a separate diagnosis: she’s on the autism spectrum, has ADHD, and seems to not have had a great level of parenting herself (ie her mother’s dismissal of staff concerns regarding Zoey’s rough treatment of her baby). She may look and try to behave older...but she’s a very YOUNG, immature fifteen.

How about somebody telling Zoe that, in addition to not treating her child violently, she needs to show the camera crew some basic courtesy, as well. She agreed to do the show. How did she think that was going to be achieved...by chiseling the images into rock walls? Of course a camera crew would be following her! Just another consequence of her choices for which she was unprepared & that others are made to suffer.

You can't take on troubled teen parents and then when they show troubled behavior get rid of them. That's a moment to teach! I sit and wonder will she too give her daughter up as a teen?

Zoe is a hateful mean girl. WOW! her child may not be with her long if she keeps that dangerous behavior up. She is scary.

Truthfully there should be resources for parents for advice and techniques on reading kids, not just babies and toddlers but teens as well.

Poor little Tyler...Ashley talks about the little guy like he’s somehow maliciously being “naughty” - at TEN months! I worry about the long term for Ashley with both Tyler and a new baby when it seems pretty evident that she doesn’t know how to care for him and, of more alarm, that she doesn’t really seem to *like* him. Skills can be taught much more easily than bonding.

Wow, Zoe really needs a reality check. Seems her mother allows her behaviors. The baby sure needs to be taken before she causes her physical harm!

I HATE the ”cry untill they sleep” tecknik. It must be soooo scary for the babys. Staying in the Romme is one thing, but leave then alone when they are upset and scared? BIG NO!

That beautiful child should be taken away from Zoe there are so many loving women who would gladly love that beautiful
Baby .

Or rock your child to sleep instead of giving them a dummy so they still get to closure and comfort without the object... without letting them scream and stress. How would you feel if the object you had learnt to place your security in was removed with no explanation or replacement?? Why do it to a child that has no comprehension of why it is happening? What an awful way of teaching transition! Poor little thing.

No bloody wonder Zoe has nothing to say to her Mum. She put her into care or should I say, gave her away to the State to raise, when she was 13 years old!

Why is there a blanket in Courtney's bed? You should never put a blanket in a child's crib because it increases the possibility of suffocation!
